Every smile looks more beautiful when teeth are sparkling white, but
coffee, soft drinks, tea, and tobacco often leave dark stains behind on
tooth enamel. Our practice offers a wide range of tooth whitening options,
such as in-office laser bleaching, and home bleaching that can help you
restore your gleaming smile.
Laser Bleaching (Whitening )
In-office Whitening can be performed in a variety of ways to give fast
dramatic results. This procedure works better than take-home whitening for
those patients who need a single tooth or set of teeth bleached with a
very high concentration of bleaching material. For example, after a root
canal, that tooth may be lightened to match the surrounding teeth. In-office
whitening combined with a take-home whitening kit is an effective way to
remove tetracycline stains. Some patients experience minor tooth
sensitivity.
Laser Bleaching and Whitening enhances the natural white of your teeth and
offers the convenience and satisfaction of results in only one visit. This
technique can lighten even tetracycline stained teeth (depending on the
depth of stains) quicker than other techniques. A dentist protects your
gums and soft tissue. Bleaching material is placed on the tooth/teeth to
be bleached. A laser is then concentrated on the material for a relatively
short period of time, activating the bleaching process. This procedure is
gaining in popularity but many dentists currently do not have the
equipment. The technique is more expensive than take-home whitening. Some
patients experience minor tooth sensitivity.

Take-Home Whitening
Take-Home Whitening is an effective and practical method of bleaching the
teeth. The patient is given a kit with a custom-made mouthpiece to wear at
home for about 8-10 days . Gel is placed into the mouthguard which is worn
up to four hours daily or at night. This method is popular for it's
convenience but some people prefer to have dentist supervision and choose
the in-office whitening method instead. People with gum recession and
certain dental conditions may not be good candidates for this type of
bleaching.
